Feature in KCStar: Jawole Zollar, Nora Chipaumire and their new work, “visible”

I wrote an article for the Kansas City Star about a new piece, visible, that was partially developed in Kansas City by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar and Nora Chipaumire.  Zollar is a Kansas City native and founder of the dance group Urban Bush Women.  She brought the international ensemble, cast specifically for this project, to Kansas City to research musical and performance influences, as well as her personal family history.

The cast previewed their work-in-progress at the “America: Now and Here” exhibit, a national touring show that opened in Kansas City.

  1. Hello Libby,

How are you? I work for Urban Bush Women. The link is broken and/or the article is no longer on the site and I was trying to capture it for our website. Would you mind emailing us a copy or sending us another link? We would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks,

    Pia
